But I can dream! <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, I toured a few landlocked countries, such as Swaziland, Tajikistan, Serbia and Bolivia.  Now, it&#8217;s time to set sail to some island nations.  After all, if I&#8217;m going to see all the countries in the world \u2212 of which the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Member_states_of_the_United_Nations\" target=\"_blank\">UN has 193 members<\/a>\u00a0\u2212 I have to keep moving.  Or in this case, sailing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure that I still had my sea legs, I started with 10 days crewing on a schooner on Lake Huron.  Please visit my chapter about <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the War of 1812 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zoa.com\/2019b\/travel\/war-of-1812\/\" target=\"_blank\">the War of 1812<\/a> to read about this historic adventure.  Then, from North America, I crossed the Pacific to Micronesia &#8212; where I was marooned on the island of Kosrae for more than a year.  Sitting out the Global Pandemic on a tropical virus-free paradise turned out to be a blessing in disguise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Kosrae, we&#8217;ll see where the winds blow me, and whether I find a ship that needs crew.   Meanwhile, I&#8217;ll maintain a world map of\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zoa.com\/map\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">the 150+ countries I&#8217;ve visited so far<\/a>.
